About ME
My name is Tiernan McMahon, I am a 21 year old Applied Psychology student at IADT Dún Laoghaire. I am in my final year of the Technology Path of this course. My technology classes focus on UX/UI design and research, web design and graphic design. I am in interested in graphic and web design and have been working with Photoshop, Illustrator, Wix and Invision to produce prototypes and websites, as well as Processing and Brackets which have given me an understanding of Java, HTML and CSS.

My education in psychology has given me an understanding of many different areas of psychology such as Cyberpsychology, Social Psychology, Neuropsychology, Research Methods and statistics. These modules focus on both theory and it's application to everyday life and have given me opportunities to conduct research projects and use IBM SPSS. I have also been volunteering with Inner City Helping Homeless as part of a project on altruism for my Social Psychology module.
I am a skateboarder, and I skate every day that I can. Skateboarding is a sport with a very immersive background, with so many different soundtracks, art styles and styles of skating over the years. A lot of the inspiration for my design comes from things I see in skate videos or magazines and the graphics on a board. The skate scene in Ireland is growing and there is nothing but support for everyone learning to skate. Its a great way to exercise and pass the time with my friends, despite slamming 50% of my tricks.

2018-2019
Atypical
Atypical is an app for parents of children with ASD. It is forum for parents to share their unique experiences with their children as autism presents in so many different ways.
2017-2018
Information and
Multimedia Design
In this module I learned HTML, CSS and Brackets. I used these to produce a timetable website that would allow students to easily replicate their timetables on their devices.
2017-2018
Usability
In this module I conducted a Usability report, as part of a group, on a campus based company, Thinscale's, website. The team and I made a set of instructions designed to test the user's experience and generated a report to highlight strengths and weaknesses for the company's attention.
I also created an app prototype for the timetable website I made in Information and Multimedia Design.
2017-2018
Generative Art
I took this Elective in my 2nd year. I learned to use Processing 3 to create 2D and 3D animated graphics using Java. I have continued to use Processing and I am interested in learning more about coding.
2016-2017
Multimedia Design
In this module I learned to use Photoshop, Illustrator and Wix. I used these programmes to produce a wiki about Erich Fromm, a famous German psychologist.
